Notes on passing AWS Solutions Architect exam
At the end of January 2019 I successfully passed AWS Solutions Architect Associate exam. Here are my notes on the preparation process and the exam itself.
I started the preparation process in the beginning of December 2018 and finished it at the end of January 2019. It took me about 50 hours of dedicated work to prepare. Before starting the process I had about a month of hands-on experience with AWS.
-
materials used for preparation:
- video course AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate by acloud.guru;
- book AWS Certified Solutions Architect: Official Study Guide;
- additional materials mentioned in the video course and the book: whitepapers, Well Architectured Framework, some FAQs;
-
I studied the video course and the book in parallel;
-
I tried to get hands-on experience with the services mentioned in the book and video;
-
after finishing each topic I did quizzes and exercises. Usually, I got 75-90% of answers right;
-
I passed the text exam with 100% of correct answers;
-
right after finishing the test exam, I registered on the real exam in order not to lose any knowledge;
-
on the real exam, in the beginning, I was worrying that I didn’t know the right answers to many questions, but it turned out alright. I was able to finish all the questions in time and then go over those I wasn’t sure of. At the end of the exam I wasn’t sure of only a few answers;
-
I passed the exam with 954 points out of 1000.
